Christmas

Each year since the arrival of our children we have taken Christmas pictures with the glow of holiday lights. This year it was wonderful to have a second little one in the picture. This was Mary Hannah's first Christmas... and it was Avery's first year to enjoy the excitement of Santa Claus. Christmas Eve was especially sweet as we read the story of Christ's birth, sang Silent Night, and then left milk and cookies for Santa... and of course a carrot for the reindeer. Avery was not confused ... he learned that Christmas is a celebration of Christ and giving is a reflection of that. In fact, he "memorized" the book we read about the story of Christmas. When asked why we give gifts at Christmas he says ,"Its Baby Jesus' birthday!"

Christmas Day at Mom and Dad's house ... it was a really nice relaxing time with our family. Uncle Dave, Tia, Uncle Tim, and Aunt Brittany were all in attendance. We missed Uncle Dan and Aunt Stephaine as they were with Steph's family for the holidays.

Mary Hannah and Avery are showing off some of their Christmas gifts. MH should be able to fit into her skirt again next year! She is such a tiny little thing! Avery has been in his car ever since Christmas Day. I have really fond memories of driving "the red care with the yellow roof" - as we called it in my home. It is fun watching Avery as he imagines gassing up and taking a drive to go to work, the grocery store, the bank, and Grandma's house. Ha!
