VERY COLD, VERY SNOWY!

So its been very cold and snowy, and these palm tree sunny sky kids are loving it! Today we drove to Nestlenook Farms in the white mountains of New Hampshire, about a 2 hour drive north. Wow! The amount of snow there was amazing. None of us had ever seen so much on the ground, coating the trees, completely enveloping the street signs, and dwarfing homes. They must have had at least a 5 foot base. And more was falling!

We enjoyed ice skating on a frozen pond at Nestlenook. Tim, Brittany, Chris and I played around for an hour or so skating, throwing snow, and falling into the snow banks. The surrounding mountains were beautiful. It was snowing lightly and every so often the horse drawn sleigh would cross the bridge. After we turned in the skates, we walked around the 63 acre acre property, enjoyed a little hot chocolate and sat by the fireplace. What fun!

Speaking of entertaining... Chris and Tim have been sporting fake mustaches that they bought at a novelty shop. Chris threw in a fake cigarette and has been making us all laugh as he tries to blend in with the locals.



Then we drove even further north into Mt. Washington Forest. It was big and pretty... lots of impressive mountains. We kept seeing signs that warned of Moose Crossings, but we didn't see any. As we left Mt. Washington we came across an enormous and beautiful hotel. So we just had to stop and check it out! The Mt. Washington Resort.


The 2 hour drive back to the inn was super challenging. It was snowing heavily and the roads were coated with snow. Alas, we made it back safely. Now its off to sleep for another day of sightseeing adventures in Boston... as long as the roads are not iced.
