This is the weather we are used to here in South FL. Lots of sun, some rain, warm temps. Today we had all that and more. There was one of these in the sky:
A funnel cloud threatened our school and nearby neighborhoods. It was the first time I had ever taken part in a REAL Tornado Drill. Yikes! The students and I did well. We were calm, cool, and collected, and fully tucked into the Tornado Drill position. Thankfully the cloud stayed away and we were able to return to "normal" activities. Just one question... how does one return to "normal" after crouching in the corner in fear of a tornado?

Glad you all survived the Tornado drill and it didn't actually touch down in your area. When I taught in TN we had lots of Tornado Warnings including one touch down right as school was about to let out. They actually did not let any of us(kids, teachers and some parents who had been there outside to pick up their kids) leave the building that day until about 6:00 that night when all the warnings were finally gone. We also had a week of weather that was so bad I brought several blankets to school for my class to sit on when since they had to crouch down on the cold hard tile floor for several hours every morning that whole week. Fun Fun Fun!
Glad you had a great Mother's day. Wish we could have joined you all at Emerils! Looks like your french toast turned out great even though your slacker friend never returned your call with the recipe. (By the way I don't really have a recipe anyway.) My mom has been in town and today my dad and brother are also here visiting and to take her home in the AM.
Miss you Hope all is well with you and the fam. Let's try to catch up sometime. So glad to hear jst a few more weeks until you are home with your cute kids!!!
